I'm not convinced about the topic I will discuss. Although I like it, I'm not entirely sure if this is something I want to go in deep. Any thoughts?

Violence is a thing that entertainment exploits constantly. Is it right? Is portraying violence causing more? Are people doing what they see in the media?

In videogames specifically, it's a very arguable topic. Violence is fictional, although situations are strikingly familiar to real life. The problem arises when this "fiction" is in contact with childrens. Still, most of the responsability should be on their parents

You could talk about the video game Grand Theft Auto and how its extreme violence started a debate in Congress. A lot of people thought it was ridiculous for them to be targeting the one video game and placing blame like that. I'm wondering whatever came of that and how/if it affected the video game manufacturer.

This might be a stretch, but how about trying to visit a prison and talk to violent criminals about what they think about video games? It's definitely an interesting perspective...

I think crime statistics are a good place to start but what about talking to a psychologist about the effects of constantly seeing violence in the media and video games on a child.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. We should always try to be impartial with every topic, even gaming; have to watch out for those fanboys.

Anyways, Blue Dragon came out for the 360 this week in Japan (from one of the creators of Final Fantasy), and probably it will come out next year to the U.S., so there's still hope for RPGs on the Xbox. But, overall, you're right. Sticking with Sony assures you good RPGs, not just from Square Enix, but also from Bandai, Factor 5 and many others.

Cheers.
